Amal Lana comes to you

There’s no studio. Every session happens in a warm pool you can use: your own, your community’s or HOA’s, or a friend’s. Travel is included around Flagstaff; farther out, see travel.

Your pool checklist

  • Warm water, 90–96°F. Warmer is better for a full session. In winter, most backyard pools need a heater or spa.
  • A chest-deep area about four feet deep, with room to move around.
  • Steps or a rail to get in and out safely.
  • Privacy from neighbors and the street.
  • A bathroom or warm room to change in.
  • Permission to use it. For a community, HOA or apartment pool, ask the manager first. Some will want a copy of her license and insurance.
  • For AquaTerra: a dry, level, shaded or indoor spot for a massage table.

Ways to find warm water

Plenty of people who come into the water don’t own a pool.

Where you live

Your community’s pool

Many HOAs, apartment complexes and senior communities have a heated pool or spa. Ask the manager if a guest instructor can use it for an hour.

Someone you know

A friend’s pool

A friend or family member with a heated pool can host you, or host a whole water circle and get their own session for less.

Not sure yet

Add your name

Send a request and choose “I don’t have a pool yet.” When enough people in one area ask, Amal Lana will look at hosting sessions there.

Upcoming Valley trips

In the Valley, sessions at home pools are arranged around the Water Days on each trip.

Host a water circle

Turn one visit into a gathering. Your friends get a group session, and you get your own session for less.

  1. Invite 4 to 8 friends for a group session at your pool, $25 each.
  2. Add your own 60-minute Water Session the same day, for $105.
  3. Send the request with a few dates that work. Each guest fills out the short health note before the day.
